The surface of the fountain pen is refined with deep black Urushi lacquer, reflecting the fascinating depth of a starry night sky. In elaborate handwork, finest particles of abalone shell are artfully embedded, creating a vibrant, shimmering play of colors. Depending on the incidence of light, iridescent nuances in blue, green, violet, and silver appear – like sparkling stardust on a dark background.
Each individual fountain pen is crafted by experienced Maki-e masters and is a distinctive unique piece. The delicate Raden elements are sealed in several layers of lacquer, carefully polished, and finally finished to a flawlessly shiny surface. This interplay of traditional techniques gives the writing instrument its extraordinary depth and brilliance.
